Cakewalk has announced its lineup of special guests for Remix Hotel NYC, taking place May 18-20 at the SAE Institute @ Herald Square, 1293 Broadway, Ninth Floor, NYC. Check out the schedule below:
FRIDAY, MAY 18
7 p.m.: The Real Deal on Landing Film & TV Gigs with Pete Johnson (Crime Scene Investigation: New York, Spiderman 3)
Join Cakewalk for a talk with Pete Johnson, associate music director for CSI: New York, about getting your music aired in film and TV shows. In addition to his work with CSI: New York, Pete is an accomplished musician, songwriter and producer with three songs on the Spiderman 3 soundtrack. The conversation will also cover production techniques in Sonar 6.
SATURDAY, MAY 19
4 p.m.: Hip Hop Production in Sonar 6 with DJ Johnny Juice (Public Enemy, The BaNNed, Ali Raps)
Join Cakewalk for a conversation with Emmy-nominated Producer DJ Johnny Juice as he gives an in-depth look at the Sonar production skills used for recent recordings with Public Enemy, The BaNNed and Ali Raps, a film about Muhammad Ali. Past talks with Juice have included drop-ins by members of Public Enemy and other hip-hop legends, so don't be surprised if some special guests stop by.
6 p.m.: The World Is a Monster Maker with Sharkey (Grand Puba, Cannibal Ox, The Pharcyde, Jean Grae)
2007 is shaping up to be the year of the Monster Maker, Sharkey's new collaboration with C-Rayz Walz, a full-length project set to drop this summer. With production credits that include Grand Puba, Cannibal Ox, The Pharcyde and Jean Grae, as well as collaborations with Micky Petralia and Rick Rubin and upcoming work with Kanye West, Sharkey has a wealth of advice to give on producing music in Sonar 6.
