PRIMEDIA’S REMIX PRESENTS THE “REMIX APHRODITE” CONTEST 

 

Emeryville, CA— September 26, 2002— PRIMEDIA’s Remix, the only magazine focusing on the technology behind the dance music market, announced today the MTA/V2 Records’ Remix Aphrodite Contest.  

 

Remix has partnered with V2, MTA Records and Cakewalk for the “Remix Aphrodite Contest” – entrants download loops from DJ Aphrodite’s latest release entitled “Aftershock” and remix them using free download of Cakewalk’s new Plasma Express remixing software. V2/MTA Records’ A&R staff will judge Aphrodite remix submissions.

The “Remix Aphrodite” contest launched in August 2002 in the pages of Remix and will be promoted through November 2002.

 

Aphrodite Remix Prizes:

 

  • First prize winner will receive a remix production ‘studio’ consisting of SONAR 2.0 XL, Cakewalk Pyro 2003, Vsampler Dxi, BBE Sonic Maximizer DX, Audio FX3 Soundstage Design and all 7 Cakewalk Loops CD libraries. Also the current V2 dance music catalog, Aphrodite “Aftershock” skate deck, autographed Aphrodite CD, vinyl, and poster, plus VIP tickets to an Aphrodite gig as well as a one-year subscription to Remix and will be featured in an upcoming issue of the magazine plus a mention in the Remix Transmisions newsletter.

 

  • Second place winner will receive a Cakewalk Home Studio XL, Cakewalk Pyro 2003, BBE Sonic Maximizer DX and 3 Cakewalk Loops Libraries (X-Mix Studio Loops 1 & 2 and ProSamples), plus the current V2 dance music catalog, “Aftershock” skate deck, autographed Aphrodite CD, vinyl and poster, VIP tickets to an Aphrodite gig, and a one-year subscription to Remix magazine and mention as the second place contest winner.

 

  • Third place winner will receive Cakewalk Plasma 2003, Cakewalk Pyro 2003, and Cakewalk X-Mix Studio Loops vol. 1 plus the current V2 dance music catalog, autographed Aphrodite gear and tickets in addition to a one-year subscription to Remix and an editorial mention in the magazine.
