FLOETRY LIVE

Dec 9, 2003 12:00 PM, Editors

Floetry kicks off tour to promote live album/DVD Floacism. Hot off the heels of a year complete with multiaward nominations and a Gold-certified debut album, Floetic, critically acclaimed duo Floetry (Marsha Ambrosius and Natalie Stewart) now prepare to release their live album Floacism on Nov. 18. Floacism will be packaged with a special bonus DVD of concert footage recorded live at the House of Blues in New Orleans on July 3,. To promote their live album, Floetry will set out on a tour, bringing the same live and electric energy they put into Floacism to cities including New York; Washington D.C.; and their original hometown, London.

Floacism is a vibrant and skillful collection of live songs, nine of which are from their Floetic debut album, including the hit singles "Say Yes," "Floetic" and "Butterflies"--the No. 2 hit that Floetry penned for Michael Jackson. The album also contains three newly recorded studio tracks. One of the first singles off the live album is "Wanna B Where U R (Thisizzaluvsong), featuring a collaboration with multitalented hip-hop artist/actor Mos Def.

Floetry relocated to Philadelphia three years ago from London and recorded their Floetic album (released October 2002), which debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 album chart and No. 4 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop chart. Since the release of Floetic, the duo toured extensively and went on to earn three Grammy Award nominations and won three Lady of Soul Awards and a BMI Award as songwriters. It's Floetry's fusion of soul and spoken word that has brought them such widespread acclaim and they are using the same formula to bring the Floetry experience to their fans with Floacism.
