Nov. 6-7: Grammy Music Tech Summit Hits Seattle
Nov 4, 2008 12:12 AM
2008 marks the third
consecutive year that the NW chapter of the Recording Academy (the Grammy
folks) presents the Grammy MusicTech 2008 summit in Seattle. The event takes
place Nov. 6-7 at Seattle Center. Panel titles include "Evolution of
Record Labels," "Youth Attitudes on Music Consumption" and
"Social Networking"—and that's just the first afternoon. Members of
Amazon, Warner Brothers, Sub Pop, Zune, IODA, Rhapsody, eMusic, ASCAP and plenty
more are participating.
There are two essential
angles to this event. The first is, of course, the topics covered—these issues
are among some of the most pressing in the music industry, and the scheduled
panelists are said to be some of the most fit to address them.
The second is the real
hook: the city of Seattle, which is one of the U.S. cities that aims to really
marry technology with music. Get more info at http://grammypnw.com/
