Overnite Encore: Lyrics Born Live! is the Lyrics Born show packaged up for you to press play anytime, anywhere. You'll hear LB backed by his four-piece band and Quannum chanteuse Joyo Velarde. Over the past year, Lyrics Born rocked crowds at Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Langerado and Vegoose.
The album combines live sets from Melbourne and Sydney in late 2005, spanning material from LB's debut album Later That Day. . ., his 2005 release Same !@#$ Different Day and classics from the Latyrx days. LB tops it off with two new bonus tracks, "Knock Knock" and "L-I-F-E" plus a live-in-the-studio version of "I'm Just Raw (Reopened & Remixed)." Co-produced by Teak tha Beatsmith and LB, "Knock Knock" thumps with a syncopated bass line, bells, whistles, hand claps and a bed of raucous street noise. "L-I-F-E" has LB trading verses with Mistah F.A.B. The chorus features ad libs from Gift of Gab, Zion I and Opio. "I'm Just Raw (Reopened & Remixed)" has new verses from Lyrics Born, Del tha Funky Homosapien and Pigeon John. LB pulled favors from rock friends Steve Knight (Flipsyde) and Tim "Herb" Alexander (Primus) to help execute the heavier version.
