Jan. 1-6: Animal Collective Keeps Busy

More dates have been added to Animal Collective's upcoming schedule in January to help promote the band's 9th full-length set, Merriweather Post Pavilion—but they're not all proper concert dates. The album will hit stores on Jan. 6 for the vinyl version, Jan. 20 for the CD and digital releases, and to coincide with the early vinyl release, a series of release and listening parties will be held across the U.S. The parties will take place at record stores or other venues and will feature pre-orders, listening party exclusive goodies including download cards and giant posters, plus ticket giveaways and more. An up-to-date list of confirmed parties will be made available at www.dominorecordco.us as more venues get added; for now, you'll have to make due with these already-announced confirmed dates.
