Symetrix, Inc. has issued
free software upgrades for its groundbreaking Deuce 722 and Zone Mix 760
single-rackspace processors. Version 2.1 of the Deuce 722 and version 2.1.1 of
the Zone Mix 760 are compatible with Microsoft's new Vista operating system and
add support for EAW's Smaart software. In addition, the new Deuce 722 software
adds a host of functionalities released in previous versions of the Zone Mix
760.
Integrators will be able
to directly control the Loudspeaker Manager, Limiter and Output sections of
either unit from within the Smaart software environment, simplifying sound
system tuning and room correction. In addition, the Deuce 722 adds support for
the ARC-K1 Modular Wall Panel Remote Control, which allows control over either,
or both, of the Deuce's channel levels with one wall panel, even from multiple
locations.
The new Deuce 722 software
also adds a number of small changes already present in the Zone Mix 760 that
increase its expansive function set. Its analog control inputs are now fully
implemented with each of the two inputs supporting two switches, two control
voltages or one potentiometer. The External Control Wizard software now allows
for additional fader and mute linking for greater control flexibility. Like the
Zone Mix 760, the Deuce 722 now permits integrators to designate "On"
and "Off" presets that can be triggered externally, providing the
ability to create preset toggles. Finally, the Deuce 722 features improved
third-party external control via Ethernet with a fully documented control
protocol. These free upgrades are available now at www.symetrixaudio.com.
