The new Denon DN-HC5000 is a rackmount digital DJ system developed to work with Serato Itch, an integrated software/hardware system.
Benefiting from Serato's HIDI technology to improve speed and software/hardware communication, the DN-HC5000 is a USB 2.0 MIDI controller with a built-in 24-bit soundcard. The DN-HC5000 is Mac- and PC-compatible and features a multifunctional touch-sensitive jog disc, a vibrant FL tube and text display and tactile rubber controls.
Denon DJ joins a growing roster of hardware partners that are working with Serato on the Itch project. Serato Itch software lets DJs control their music from a computer, using purpose-built Itch hardware. The new Denon model will use a proprietary HIDI technology that Serato developed to increase reliability and speed of communication between its software and partnered hardware.
The Denon DN-HC5000 is expected to ship in late 2009.
