Yes, it's true—there will
be guitars everywhere! If you plan to check out the Austin GuitarTown Auction
Gala, that is. Set for Wednesday, Oct. 17, this special event will represent
the culmination of the year-long public arts project that has graced the city
streets of
The Auction Gala will give
guests the opportunity to bid on the works of art live, online, and via phone.
There will also be a limited quantity Austin GuitarTown collector's art book
available for $25 that will feature images of the entire collection of both
sculptures and showcase guitars, plus profiles of the participating artists and
supporting musicians. Tix for the red carpet event are $100 per person, and
proceeds will benefit The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, The Austin
Museum of Art, American Youthworks, and the Austin Children's Museum.
