April 27 - May 18: Get Your Buzz Up Industry Education

Apr 1, 2008 12:03 AM

For four Sundays in a row, industry newbies will be able to get all the latest info on today's music industry climate at the Get Your Buzz Up 4-Day Industry Experience at Don Hill's in New York City.

From 3 to 10 p.m. each day—April 27, May 4, May 11 and May 18—the event will mix panel events, keynote speakers, artist showcases and plenty of networking opportunities for musicians and others trying to break into the scene. Jeff Robinson (manager of Alicia Keys) will serve as keynote speaker on April 27, while Music Editor Bonsu Thompson will fill that role on May 18. Other panelists will include Def Jam's Lenny S., BMI's Ian Holder, Atlantic Records' Cornelius Harrington, producer Scram Jones, producer Frequency and entertainment attorney John Ingram, among a plethora of others.

Artists are also invited to apply to perform on a pay-to-play basis, the fee of which will include admission to the event, extra passes, flyers and gift bags, a DVD of your performance, and the chance to win a prize package that is set to include $1,000 cash plus studio time, various A&R meetings and other promotional assistance.

Whether you want a chance to perform, win prizes or just attend one or all of the Sunday events, get tix and more info at www.getyourbuzzup.com.
