Oct 15, 2007 6:43 PM
Get out your boots, hat, and tighty-whities, ‘cause it’s remixing time, pardners. The Cowboy’s servin’ up a helpin’ of “The Naked Cowboy Anthem” for your remixin’ consideration. ACIDplanet.com, a site for user-generated music, video content, computer-based recording, and remixing tools, has launched an exclusive remix contest for New York’s infamous Naked Cowboy.
Arguably one of the most photographed people in the world and possibly the most “exposed” country music artist to ever release a record, the Naked Cowboy’s presence as an established symbol of American freedom and his “let it all hang out” attitude has made him a popular one-man walking tourist attraction in New York City.
ACIDplanet remix entrants will get access to the master tracks from “The Naked Cowboy Anthem.” Contestants can create their remix of “The Naked Cowboy Anthem” by downloading the song’s music loops from the ACIDplanet contest Web site. Contestants can then use the ACID music creation software to paint the loops into their remix. If contestants don't already have the ACID software, they may download a free copy of ACID XPress software application from Sony Creative Software.
When contestants have completed their remix, they will be directed to return to the main Naked Cowboy Remix Contest Web page and click the “Upload My Entry” button to upload their track and successfully enter the contest. All remix contest entries must be fully uploaded by 12:00 a.m. midnight PST by Thursday, November 22, 2007. The winning remix will receive Sony merchandise, including a Sony MP3 Walkman, Sony ACID Pro software, Sony Sound Forge software, five premium Sony sample loop libraries, and merchandise from TMR Records.
