IT GIVES YOU WINGS

With computer graphics, paintings, sculptures and audio oddities, the music, art, dance and fashion of electronic music converged for the third annual Ascension celebration at San Francisco's 1015 Folsom on Feb. 13, 2003. As the main stage transformed from a fashion show into a dancefloor, a live P.A. and even a freaky display of fiendish folks on stilts, a bevy of local DJs dazzled the packed club until Überzone took the stage for the headlining set. Sponsored by Red Bull Energy Drink and the Infinite Kaos multimedia collective, Ascension benefited the San Francisco Late Night Coalition, an organization dedicated to preserving the city's thriving night life. Even San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown took the stage to voice his encouragement that these events continue in order to keep the city's artist culture alive.
