Manifesto: “Our manifesto is to release quality underground dancefloor music and to look to the future without forgetting the past,” says Luke Allen, Four:Twenty A&R/label manager.
A&R Philosophy: “I sign music because I think it's got something that I don't hear in other music; it's special, it's musically very good, and I would personally buy and listen to it,” Allen says. “We don't usually sign one-off deals as we want the artists and the label to grow together; it creates a family atmosphere, and I think that's very important.”
Upcoming: “Coming up, we've got new tracks from Martin Buttrich (‘Well Done’) with a Serafin remix; TG (‘Cave the Speakers’) with a Konrad Black remix; and Martin Buttrich, Matt Tolfrey and B-Pole remixes of two TG tracks,” Allen says. “We've already penciled in 2007 releases for Dani Koenig, Martin Buttrich, James Mowbray & Leiam Sullivan and D. Ramirez. We've also got our mix compilation Music 02 coming out in the spring and an exclusive James Mowbray digital-only album available through Beatport in February.
