DETROIT AFTER DARK
Jun 1, 2002 12:00 PM, By Chris Gill
Detroit may be the home of Eminem, Kid Rock and the Insane Clown Posse, but as readers of this magazine know, it's also the home of some of the finest techno music in the world. One of the best places to get a sampling of the Motor City's techno talent is the third annual Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF). The free-of-charge event attracts tens of thousands of electronic-music fans (no, not more than a million, as the promoters falsely claim). For those of you planning to attend DEMF this Memorial Day weekend (May 25-27), Remix has put together a recommended guide of places to stay, eat and hear music, as well as several must-visit record stores and other attractions.
