Want to produce your own
music? Develop your DJ skills? Learn about specific software? Beginners and
experts alike can always do with a bit of extra knowledge here and there, but
physical courses are often expensive. Sonic Academy has now launched a new
music-production video-tutorial resource that you can have delivered direct to your
PC.
Sonic Academy's online
video training academy is said to be aiming for an "ethos of high
production values, professional presenters and most importantly,
knowledge." The interactive site enables tutorials to be downloaded in
bite-size modules to answer a specific question or problem area, or as a whole
course taking you through step-by-step onscreen how to maximize your software
or hardware. In addition, the online academy features interviews, advice and
tutorials from a variety of DJs and producers.
Sonic Academy contains
from beginner to ultra-advanced video tutorials on leading software packages,
including Ableton, Cubase and Reason (for computer and live music production),
and hardware from mixers, turntables and DJ CD players to the more challenging
and unusual equipment and gadgets on the market.
Users can subscribe to
Sonic Academy Online for about $10 a month or $80 for the year (introductory
offer), and receive "Sonic Insider" status. Sonic Insiders can
download two full courses of their choice and have Web access to all other
training courses, as well as exclusive Sonic Insider features, interviews,
technical support and competitions. Get the whole scoop at
www.sonicacademy.com.
