Sept. 20: The Legendary X-Clan's Brother J Set to Lecture

Sep 10, 2007 4:49 PM

Also in the good ol' Midwest will be a special appearance by Brother J of the Legendary X-Clan. Recognized as one of the pioneers of conscious hip-hop, Brother J has been a participant on various panels, and a guest speaker at colleges and universities throughout the United States, bringing Hip-Hop into the classroom, evolving "street knowledge" into a useful tool rather than a weapon of destruction.

He'll be lecturing on this very topic at the Black Star Community Bookstore in Detroit on Sept. 20 from 7 to 9 p.m.; admission is $10. The bookstore is located at 19410 Livernois, and you can call (313) 863-BOOK for more info.
