ULTRA, ABOVE & BEYOND RAISE AWARENESS WITH CARBON NEUTRAL

May 23, 2007 5:09 PM

Ultra Records and Above & Beyond have teamed up to create the first U.S. dance music carbon-neutral release, Anjunabeats Volume 5. A first for both the label and the act, each party noted that awareness must be raised of the ecological impact caused by one of the most enjoyed pleasures: music.

Until the invention of a teleport machine, DJs will continue to use planes to tour abroad. But visiting foreign climates several times a week to bring dance music to the peosple leaves a sizable carbon footprint. International superstars, Above & Beyond, have announced they'll offset the carbon emissions from each and every journey they take by contributing to a carbon fund, beginning with their Anjunabeats Volume 5 world tour. For every flight the act takes, they donate the equivalent of the emissions created to carbonfund.org.

To offset the cost of the carbon emissions created by the production of each Anjunabeats Volume 5 CD, Ultra Records will donate the equivalent to carbonfund.org and will continue this practice with future projects.
