JULY 23-29: 30 YEARS OF ROCK STEADY CREW

That's right, y'all—premier hip-hop group the Rock Steady Crew are celebrating 30 years of breaking, and they've got a celebration planned that'll knock you out. Legendary b-boy and RSC President Crazy Legs is rounding up his crew for a weeklong series of events that'll include DJ sets and training, art shows, discussion panels and, of course, free concerts, with the key events taking place in Manhattan, the Bronx and in Newark, NJ as part of the 2nd Annual Lincoln Park Music Festival.
Founded in 1977, the Rock Steady Crew's annual anniversaries symbolize the preservation of the history and evolution of hip-hop culture. The individual events celebrating hip-hop and breaking and, in turn, give back to the community. This year's festivities will include appearances from artists Sway, Rob Swift, Large Professor, Mr. Wiggles, Keith Murray, EPMD, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Grandmaster Mele Mel.
