USA Today Pop Music Critic Steve Jones recently analyzed the current state of hip-hop music and its dismal performance over the past year, which included plunging album sales and disappointing record releases. Fans may be disappointed, but Music Nation is making an effort to help.
An online artists' community that was custom-made for musicians, fans and industry insiders, Music Nation is dedicated to uncovering genuine, fresh music talent through emerging channels and connected communities. Musicians can personalize their homepage to serve as a digital demo with recordings, music videos and information about the artist, allowing them to reach new audiences and build invaluable relationships with their fans. After launching in 2006 as a competition with over 2,500 entries judged by industry heavy hitters including Nelly and The Game, Music Nation has evolved into a full-fledged musicians' community. Season two of the competition portion of Music Nation launched a couple weeks ago, with DJ Green Lantern and rapper Saigon among the judges.
