VH1 is picking up The Roots—quite literally—and is taking them on the road as part of their Hip-Hop Honors show Tour, on which The Roots will share the stage with MC Lyte, Big Daddy Kane and other hip-hop performers. Kicking off on Sept. 13 at the House of Blues in Los Angeles, the tour will keep a full schedule until Oct. 5, when it wraps up at The Nokia Theater in New York's Times Square. The closing date will also serve as a segue into VH1's fourth-annual televised Hip-Hop Honors show. While the lineup for the 2007 televised edition of Hip-Hop Honors has yet to be announced, the show will follow its format of using new and established artists to pay tribute to Hip-Hop's pioneers. Stay tuned to VH1.com for more details.
