Manifesto: “The label's ideology is simple, really — to release great house music from established artists while nurturing and pushing new talent from exciting up-and-coming artists,” says Mark Knight, owner of Toolroom.

A&R Philosophy: “We love getting demos and try to reply to everyone,” Knight says. “Although this becomes hard sometimes, we will get around to everyone eventually! We're always looking for new material and new artists to work with. We look for originality, quality production and generally a long-term commitment from the artist.”

Upcoming: “This year has been crazy for us with our global tour Toolroom Knights and our mix-CD compilations,” Knight says. “Our residency in the UK is Ministry of Sound, but we are taking the Toolroom Knights parties all over the world. Our mix compilations accompany the tour, including those from Paul Harris & Martijn ten Velden and Gabriel & Dresden. We're also launching a third label for Leaders of the New School, where it will now become a label in its own right, being more frequent with its release schedule and a real launch pad for new artists. Later this year we're also launching our new Website, which will be more of an experience for our users and feature all the news from Toolroom HQ. It will also include a superfast, user-friendly shop for upfront vinyl, CDs and of course, MP3s and WAVs.”
