DJ RAP GOES BACK TO THE JUNGLE

Jan 1, 2002 12:00 PM

After a questionable detour into the land of pop, DJ Rap (aka Charissa Saverio) has returned to her drum 'n' bass roots with her latest album, Propa Classics, Volume 1. Issued on Intuit-Solar, the 15-track mix CD features two new productions and a bevy of old-school jungle classics that journey through Rap's ten-year career. Hailing from East London, DJ Rap is touted as a drum 'n' bass pioneer and “the first lady of jungle.” The album can also be purchased in MP3 format from EMusic (www.emusic.com). For a limited time, EMusic is also offering a free download of “Spiritual Aura 2001,” a new mix of the 1995 classic Rap produced alongside the Freestylers' Ashton Harvey under the moniker Engineers Without Fears.
