Label: Shitkatapult (with sublabels Musick and Meteosound)

Style: Shitkatapult: eclectic electronic music; artist-focused, not style-focused!

Musick: raw and dirty dancefloor bombs; mostly techno, electro

Meteosound: eclectic soul city music, dub, house, electronic funk

Established: By tech-punk rocker T.Raumschmiere (Marco Haas) in 1996. In 2000, Sascha Ring (aka Apparat) jumped onboard, splitting head-honcho duties. In 2006, everything changed: Marco Haas founded Random Noize Musick GmbH with his old friend and producer Daniel Meteo and his lawyer Florian Schmieg, after Sascha Ring left Shitkatapult. In addition to Shitkatapult, Meteo's own label Meteosound and the newfound “dirty-floor” label Musick are now divisions of Random Noize Musick.

Artists: Shitkatapult: Apparat, Chris de Luca vs. Phon.o (CLP), Das Bierbeben, Fenin, Warren Suicide, Sun Electric, Transforma (video), T.Raumschmiere;

Musick: DJ Flush, Holz, Magnum 38, Shrubbn!!, Dave Tarrida & Mike Fuzz;

Meteosound: Fenin, Daniel Meteo

Essential Listening: Apparat, Silizium (2004); Phon.o, Burn Down the Town (2005); T.Raumschmiere, Random Noize Sessions (2005); Apparat, Walls (2007); Magnum 38, Old Europe Strikes Back (2007); Shrubbn!!, “Molly Rhubarb/Brandenburg” [12-inch] (2007); Fenin, Been Through (2008); Warren Suicide, Requiem for a Missing Link (2008)

Manifesto: “The concept behind Shitkatapult is — there is no concept at all!” says Nico Deuster, head of promotions. “Every release is different. Anything goes, from the more serious organo-chemistry of Apparat and the musical middle finger of T.Raumschmiere to the mutant tech-disco of Das Bierbeben.”

A&R Philosophy: “We seek serious artists, people with something to say who cannot do anything but express it this way and no other,” Deuster says. “We accept demos, but they hardly get heard. Although some of the artists have been discovered by demos being sent.”

Upcoming: “T.Raumschmiere will have a massive new album soon, and stay tuned for CLP's new one this fall,” Deuster says.
