Brooklyn band TV on the Radio just released its latest album, Dear Science, on Interscope last month and is now running the globe on tour. The new album is another amalgamation of electronic-rock beauty, with shoegaze-y drones, light-but-driving guitar melodies/riffs, dance-able beats and the occasional chorus of horns and strings. Stony production wizard Dave Sitek (or David Andrew Sitek, if you want to be all formal about it) took a few moments out of his insanely busy schedule to give Remix a top ten of the most interesting and awesome tracks he’s currently listening to. To read about Dave's recording process and see a list of his studio gear, go here. And for a taste of the new album, get on over to TVOTR's MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/tvotr

Kate Bush "Hounds of Love"
Dreamy. Oh so dreamy.

Eddie Harris "I Don't Want Nobody"
Yikes.

Lee Hazelwood "My Autumn's Done Come"
I, too, am tired of holding my stomach in! The sound of this track is bananas! Cinematic, red-blooded and far out!

Daniel Higgs "Living in the Kingdom of Death"
Holy music. Living music. Treasure.

Count Ossie & the Mystic Revelation of Rastafari "Wicked Babylon"

Even the title is wicked. What an eerie beauty.

Nina Simone "Baltimore"
Incredible song (Randy Newman) plus undisputable champion performer (Nina Simone) plus slowed-down rocksteady backdrop plus sweeping strings = I really need to step up my game! What an enormous song. Heavy, beauty, historically accurate!

Talking Heads "This Must Be the Place"

"And you'll love me 'til my heart stops, love me 'til I'm dead." Shit, that's just poetry!

Tears for Fears "Head Over Heels"

I think I will be in pursuit of making this kinda song for the rest of my life. When you hear me put a slow phaser on a tom fill, I am probably 45 minutes from retirement. But I will have a slowed-down crash at the end of the fill...probably on the second beat. Damn, that was real nerd stuff.

Telepathe "Devil's Trident"
Wildly inventive. Several narratives against a changing canvas. What a delicious sound. I'm smitten with their talent! Heartbreak/dancefloor.

The Three Degrees "Collage"

Pre disco. Super bad-ass drums on this track! It's an elephant on a tightrope! I pine for music that sounds this big.
